MI5, MI6 and GCHQ are working collaboratively to develop our unique Procurement, Finance and Audit teams.

Procurement

Our procurement team’s work is fascinating, collaborative, diverse and rewarding. Our teams help to shape the future by providing a service that is vital to support the nation’s security. They support operations and investigations by acquiring everything from professional services and emerging technologies, through to bespoke items for on-going research and development. Individual teams work closely with their customers – constantly thinking on their feet to formulate creative ideas in response to sensitive operational requirements. Following commercial best practice, the teams will build effective supplier relationships that aim to safeguard supply chain risk and drive good performance and value in often complex and challenging environments.

Audit

MI5, MI6 and GCHQ help protect the UK against threats to national security including terrorism, cyber and espionage. The internal audit team plays a key role in providing independent, objective assurance and consultancy services to improve how critical national security objectives are achieved. We employ auditors at all levels to deliver risk-based audits across a number of business areas including operational, security, financial and technology risks. We work together with our stakeholders to help identify opportunities to improve business processes, risk management and control frameworks. Our team of auditors have the unique opportunity to conduct assignments across all three intelligence agencies.

Finance Officer Training Scheme

Joining our Finance Officer Training Scheme will provide you with a unique opportunity, in a permanent role, to study for an Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) qualification and develop your skills while protecting the country.

Our Business Enablers play a vital role in keeping the UK safe. As the country faces increased threats to national security, it will be your role to support teams carrying out a range of essential corporate functions. Vetting Officers

Vetting Officers carry out extensive and thorough interviews with potential recruits and existing staff to explore everything about them before carefully making a decision about their suitability to hold the highest form of security clearance necessary for government positions, Developed Vetting (DV) status.

Administrative Officers

Our Administrative Officers work across a variety of departments each offering a range of roles providing essential support to our officers.This is an ideal role for a school leaver, people coming back to work after a career break or those looking for a change of career.

Graphic Designers

Our Graphic Designers work in our in-house digital print and design section producing designs to fulfil a variety of briefs to deliver high quality end products. They also provide advice and consultancy on best practice and liaise with both internal customers and external contacts.

Lawyers

Our Lawyers find practical solutions to complex legal problems and deal with high profile litigation. They advise colleagues in relation to highly sensitive investigative and operational matters and are involved with legal challenges covering the full range of MI5’s responsibilities.

Security Officers

Our Security Officers make a significant contribution to the protection of MI5’s staff, visitors and estates. They are key in maintaining the security of our buildings, controlling and monitoring the access of staff, visitors and vehicles, and conducting necessary physical searches.

Receptionists

Our Receptionists are the key first point of contact for all visitors who come into our buildings. Ensuring that all identification checks for visitors are carried out before making sure that they reach their hosts as quickly and smoothly as possible.

Business Support Officers

Our Business Support Officers provide vital administrative support. You could be working in a range of departments from finance to HR or in our legal team, fulfilling a range of important tasks including collating information, managing databases, research and producing reports.

Drivers

We recruit a variety of Drivers. Our Mail Van Drivers are responsible for the secure transportation of mail and equipment for official purposes between various sites. Our Fleet Drivers transport cars, vans and other specialist vehicles of varying size between our offices or to outside agencies for maintenance. They also prepare vehicles for use and carry out routine maintenance checks.

Information and Records Manager

MI5 and MI6 are looking for dynamic record managers who are passionate about extracting maximum value from our information and developing tools, practices and policies.

Auditors

We employ Auditors at all levels to deliver risk-based audits across a number of business areas including operational, security, financial and organisational risks.
